Olay Regenerist® Daily Regenerating Serum is an anti-aging product. Sold under the label of Oil of Olay, and is a secondary brand produced by Procter and Gamble.
Olay Regenerist® Daily Regenerating Serum is in every department store and trusted my many, this product sells at a very reasonable price, and some people swear by it. However, when Olay reveals their ingredient list, there are no major proven ingredients, such as those found in more expensive formulas.
The ingredient list does include antioxidants such as vitamin E and green tea extract “Camellia Sinensis” and palmitoyl pent peptide, which also promotes the production of collagen. Studies indicate that niacinamide or B3 used a 4% ratio has anti-inflammatory properties, and could hold promise. Olay does not disclose the percentage, so you cannot conclude whether or not it contains enough to be effective.
The first four ingredients are Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, Glycerin, and, Polymethylsilsesquioxane. All except the water are what referred to as film-formers. These agents help spread smooth, a cause clinging of the product to the skin, therefore to be long lasting. The Olay Regenerist® website claims that the product regenerates the skin, hence the name. In addition to providing benefits, equal to a chemical peel, cosmetic surgery, or laser treatments. It claims only to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
A customer is also required to use many different products for various needs. There is no real evidence suggesting this contains any major known elements that frequently found elsewhere in anti-wrinkle formulas. It does not offer to reduce or prevent substantial wrinkling of the skin. It states it will minimize lines to make them look less noticeable, just as a good moisturizer should.
When a product is made by such a large company you would expect that they would use some serious ingredients. However, based on our research, bigger may not be better. When you consider products like LifeCell, Revitol and Hydroxitone that have everything but the kitchen sink in them it makes you wonder. There is always a possibility that they have some secret ingredient that we couldn’t find sufficient research for.
